Auf der Grundlage ägyptischer, babylonischer, persischer und indischer Quellen erzählt der Autor von Alexanders Begegnungen mit fremden Menschen, Ländern und Kulturen. Der Kinofilm »Alexander der Große« vom Regisseur Oliver Stone hatte im Dezember 2004 Premiere. Robin Lane Fox war bei den Filmaufnahmen als Berater, Autor und Darsteller beteiligt.
