Dabei geht es u.a. um europaweit bandenmäßig begangenen Umsatzsteuer-Betrug in Milliardenhöhe. Sie sieht sich konfrontiert mit Behinderungen durch die eigene Verwaltung, mangelhafter Ausrüstung für die Ermittlungsarbeit wie fehlende technische Ausrüstung und nicht vorhandene schusssichere Westen, aber auch verweigerter Amtshilfe und dem offenkundigen Unwillen an höherer Stelle, die Missstände bei den Ermittlungen aufzuklären und abzustellen. Ihr Fazit: Wenn die Finanzverwaltung sich mit kriminell organisierter Steuerhinterziehung beschäftigt, zeigen sich erschreckende Defizite, die uns Steuerzahler Milliarden kosten.
