Des Weiteren werden sämtliche Abzeichen und Dokumente behandelt, die mit den Fallschirmjägern zu tun hatten, sowie schließlich deren Einsätze - vom belgischen Sperrfort Eben-Emael über Kreta, Nordafrika, Russland, Italien mit Monte Cassino, die Normandie und die Ardennen bis hin zu den letzten Tagen des Nazi-Regimes. 'FALLSCHIRMJÄGER - Uniformen und Ausrüstung 1936-1945' stellt die bislang umfangreichste und detaillierteste Studie zu allen Aspekten der Bekleidung und Ausrüstung der Fallschirmjäger dar, in der nahezu jedes von ihnen verwendete Uniformstück vorgestellt wird - einschließlich sämtlicher ausgegebener Muster des 'Knochensacks'. Für dieses Werk kam es zu einer so noch nie dagewesenen Zusammenarbeit von Sammlern und Museen aus aller Welt mit dem Autoren Karl Veltze und dem Zeughaus Verlag. Die drei Bände umfassen zusammen mehr als 1.000 Seiten mit Tausenden von speziell dafür angefertigten Farbfotos von originalen Sammlerobjekten, von denen einige zuvor noch nie gezeigt oder beschrieben wurden. Begleitet wird das Ganze von zeitgenössischen Aufnahmen, viele davon ebenfalls unveröffentlicht.
