Dafür führte sie zahlreiche Interviews mit ehemaligen Bürgern der DDR aus allen Schichten. Das Ergebnis ist eine neue Geschichte der DDR, die nichts beschönigt, aber den bisherigen Blick auf die DDR auf ebenso lebendige wie erstaunliche Weise erweitert, präzisiert und erhellt.
