Er bietet Emma eine neue Heimat fern des seuchengeplagten Berlins, wo ihr Sohn unbeschwert aufwachsen kann. Marlene kann sich allerdings ein Leben ohne Emma nicht vorstellen. Und auch die kranken Kinder in der Klinik brauchen die engagierte Kinderkrankenschwester. Wie wird sie sich entscheiden?
