Die Islamische Republik Iran zählt zu den Next-11-Emerging-Markets. Damit Iran diese Entwicklung vorantreiben kann, braucht es ausländische Unterstützung. Im Jahr 2002 wurde entgegen der Verfassung ein Investitionsgesetz erlassen, das gezielt das Engagement ausländischer Unternehmen anzuwerben und zu schützen sucht. Ziel der Arbeit ist die Untersuchung der ökonomischen und rechtlichen Bedingungen für die wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen ausländischer Unternehmen mit dem Iran. Betrachtet wurden dabei insbesondere die Beziehungen Deutschlands und Irans, die anders als die Kontakte Irans mit anderen Mächten stets freundschaftlich und partnerschaftlich geprägt waren. Für das bessere Verständnis Irans wurde zudem das politische, rechtliche und religiöse Staatsmodell anhand der historischen und religiösen Entwicklung dargestellt. Die Arbeit schließt mit einem Erfahrungsbericht ab, für den über tausend Unternehmen zu ihren Erfahrungen beim Irangeschäft befragt wurden.
